I want to buy a motorbike – in Jakarta!?
Ok, so I live in Jakarta right now, and I want to buy a motorbike. But I know absolutely nothing about bikes. The bikes here seem to all have very small engines and make high-pitched noises.
What do I need to know before I buy a bike? For example, what does CC mean? What type of bike should I be looking for? And if you know abot Jakarta, where is a good place to buy?
(and yes i have a bike licence)
Darling buy a new one (less than $900 that way you will have no trouble). You need to know how to ride crazy and take insane risks before riding in Jakarta (ha ha I’m a driver not a rider – take it easy). CC means cubic centimetres its the size of the “chamber” in he motor. The standard bike is 125cc and if you buy a new one it won’t be so high-pitched. You can pay about $1500 for a brand new 200cc bike which are not so whiny too. Buy from the dealer (Honda, Suzuki, Bajaj, Yamaha) and then you will get a good bike. Actually I think the $900 is NEW ZEALAND dollars so that means about $600 US.
