Honda Motorcycle Touring Seats
What motorcycle should me and my friend get? PLEASE HELP!?
Ok, we’ve completed the Safety training. We want sport-style. I’m about 245-250 and a football player and he’s 230 who also plays football. We want motorcycles that are pretty fast, has good/excellent quality, and stylish. No cruisers or touring, just sport style. We’ve dreamed of getting a cycle, obviously. I want one that I can carry my girlfriend, and he just doesn’t care how many seats for his.Yes, we’re getting our owns. We don’t really care about money. This is in Texas, so we need suggestions on leather and helmets too, so we won’t get so because it gets 95-110 degrees here. Also, we’re looking at Honda, Yamaha, and Suzukis. He wants Kawi and I’m between Yamaha and Suzuki, but people are telling me they are piece of s.h.i.t. So I really would appreciate pros and cons and suggestions of which we should get. Our dads our best friends too and have cycles, so we have plenty of experience.
Also, I’m looking at Honda.
95-97 Honda VFR 750. V4 engine configuration is mechanically reliable and delivers an even and torquey power curve. Sounds cool too.
If you want to go new I’d say check out a Suzuki SV650. V twin engine configuration with a light weight frame is really fun. 0-60 in 3.5 seconds! and with the right pipe it sounds AWESOME. Better than the lower end Ducatis in my opinion. TONS of low end power to learn on and gain confidence. eventually upgrade the suspension if you want superior handling with your body type. Rear shock swaps are easy enough and the front end can be made better with progressive springs and heavier fork oil. These upgrades are not necessary but help so i hear. I ride an 01 SV and I weigh 200lbs. I have not made the upgrades, but when I push the bike’s limits through corners I can feel some squirminess.
I would stay away from inline 4 configurations until you are ready to consistently wind a bike out to 10,000+ rpm to use it fully. realistically, riding like that is like giving it a burst on the highway for a moment or around town until you hit the next stop light. Maybe you’ll do a canyon tour on an r6. Might be uncomfortable an hour in. Or maybe you’ll do track days. But you probably will not want to on your new machine. I like the SV because it corners well enough, sounds rad and I can destroy anything in a drag race. Ride safe.
