Motorcycle Bike Week 2010
MOTORCYCLE INSURANCE NEEDED BEFORE “LAY-UP” PERIOD ENDS…?
I have a “lay-up” period on my motorcycle insurance from Dec 1st – Feb 28/29 where I no longer have liability coverage, but only fire and theft because those are generally months when a person wouldn’t be riding (at least in Ohio). I am going to Daytona Bike Week in 2010, and will be leaving Feb 26… so I am going to need insurance on the bike for 3 days before the “lay-up” period is over. My insurance agent says the only thing I can do is have coverage year round which costs an additional $150 per year. I hate to pay this much when I really only need it for 3 days. Any ideas???
Pay for insurance and forget about trailering it. Shop around for another insurance agent that has your best interests at heart. Progressive told me to put full coverage on instead of liability would take a phone call and about 30 seconds of my time. They were right. the next bill came due with my regular premium so if your guy is screwing with you remind him it’s a tough economy and you are sorely tempted to take your business elsewhere. you might just get a different answer than the first go around.
