Motorcycle Nitrous Kits – Easier Than Ever To Install And Maintain
Whether you’re riding a Harley, Honda, BMW or Subaru, there are times on the open road that you just wanted to cut loose and open the throttle for all it’s worth. If you’re into custom modification, you’ve probably thought about motorcycle nitrous kits for boosting engine performance. You may have even wondered if this was going to be an easy or hard step to accomplish.
The wet type of nitrous kit modification is one of the most popular around. This type of kit works with both nitrous and fuel to boost your engines horsepower. If you’ve got a supercharged or turbo engine, this might be the method for you.
It works with a single nozzle system and handles nitrous and fuel simultaneously. Modern technology allows the two ingredients to travel through the same nozzle out through the nitrous set while the fuel is measured specifically for maximum performance through a series of tuning jets.
Dry nitrous kits are lot easier to install and are available everywhere. There are online instructions for installation and troubleshooting guides. I would recommend having some experience with motorcycle maintenance under your belt or at the very least bring a buddy in on the project. These kits come with full instructions and most have a website that can offer more detail.
It’s of course prudent to read all of the instructions before you get started and make sure you have all the tools needed to do the job right before hand. Plan your wiring ahead of time to ensure that you’re able to run the line through to your switch on the handlebar.
You’re also going to want to find a spot to mount your bottle that is not susceptible to overheating. Remember nitrous oxide can explode or at the very least mess up your system at extremely high temperatures. You’ll then want to connect the injector to your fuel injection system. You want to be extra diligent about the instructions at this point to ensure proper connection.
Quite a few of these nitrous systems will wire straight through to the horn on your handlebars. Follow the diagram for wiring installation carefully. Once you’re done, go ahead and test the system. Try the throttle and send small amounts of nitrous to see if the system is working A-OK. After installation, motorcycle nitrous kits should be inspected at a shop before taken on the open road.
