What are “points” on a motorcycle engine?
Where are they and how easy is it to change them?
I have a 1992 Suzuki DR 250 that dies every now and then. A buddy of mine suggested I should install a new spark plug, change points, air filter, fuel filter, etcetera. I don;t know anything about “points” though. When I look them up on Motorcycle part websites do I search for “points” or is that slang?

Points are a ignition part . Your bike does not have them. Try having the carb cleaned, more specific the pilot jet . This may help your idling situation.
