motorcycle left on prime overnight?
hi my friend just purchased a 2008 Suzuki DRZ400s dual sport and last night his brother decided to turn the petcock on prime ( he was convinced it meant off) now i know this is a gravity fed selection so how much gas could have traveled into the engine within about 20 hours(or will the float stop the gass ones the carb is full?), and should he be worried? it is on the ON position now but has not been started for fear of fire/hydrolocking any info would be appreciated.
With the bike being new, the carbs should have filled and cut off the flow. The danger is after the needles and floats get some wear on them, they won’t cut off the flow and You get gas in the oil. BTW, He needs to have a talk with His Brother.
