what are the steps after buying a motorcycle in florida?
I’m looking to buy a sportbike from ebay or craigslist and i’m a litttle bit confused because i have never purchased a vehicle before.
If i’m buying the bike from ebay from a delear thats out of state, how and where do i have to go in order to register the bike in florida and how much does it cost?Also, is inssurance required in florida? How do i get the plates and everything?Do i have to pay for the plates too?
I have already taken the MSF course and got my license…but i’ve never been on a bike bigger than 250cc. I’m thinking of buying the honda cbr 600rr or the kawasaki ninja 636 2005 model….do you think these are good choices for me? Is there any big difference between the kawasaki 636 and the honda cbr 600? thank you!
First, I’ve sold a motorcycle on eBay, but I’d not buy or sell on CL ever…eBay has lots of ratings, and other buyer protections and CL will let any schmuck sell anything to anybody. Buyer beware.
Second, check with your local DMV, but I think it will go like this…you send the guy money in whatever form he wants, and he should send you the title to the vehicle, signed by himself showing that he sold it to you. He ships the vehicle to you. While the vehicle is in transit, you go to the DMV and show them the title, they issue you a title with your name on it, and then go to your insurance guy and get insurance. When the bike arrives, you jump on it and go have fun.
