Where can I buy a wireless intercom system to talk between two cars?

Like the motorcycle or race intercoms, except between two separate vehicles, preferably with mountable antenna for range. Anyone know where I can buy one?
Honestly, I’ve thought about a CB, and that’s my least favorite option, just due to the fact that it’s more mainstream, and the problems with VOX. I’m looking for something with voice activation, decent range (1.5-2 miles) and not a huge investment ($1000 or less for a two car setup).
