i am in the Air force living in japan i have a motorcycle R1 Yamaha EUROPEAN model can i shipped to USA ?

i am moving to USA florida next year ,and i need to know if i can take it back with me. the shipping is free for me .But i dont know how much i have to pay to register my bike in the usa if it is posible or not because is europian model
watch about the shipping. a guy that lives down stairs from us shipped his motorcycle from usa to japan (military) and his bike had some rust starting to form from the ship ride. that and the guys who packed it didn’t even try to protect it at all. so watch that. k?
i talked to my husband and he said he has heard about guys dismantling their bikes and shipping them with their tmo (after all of the oils and gas cleaned out) and rebuilding it as a ‘kit’ and take pictures so you can prove that you did build it from the ground up. also you want to keep in mind that if you go through CA there are only two places that will do conversions and they will not tell you what is being done so you can’t do it yourself. sucks huh? um also i think you will have to have it taged from your home state. if you dont send it thorugh tmo you would have to count in conversion costs, plus paying for the retail value when it hits the usa soil. i have heard of one guy who bought a new car, brought it over, and was asked to pay for it again. so in the end you might be looking to pay up to 3 grand for regerstration and conversion costs. you could also call up FL or your home state dmv and see about how much it might cost.
